Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

When work life gets dull and boring and that Christmas office party just seems too far away, it might be a good idea to consider an office party celebrating other special events. Fall is the time when the weather turns and it gets colder outside. What better time to spice up your employee’s lives than to have a special Halloween office party! There are great way to set up a party, from encouraging costumes, offering specialty treats and foods and setting up games and activities. Remember, happy workers are productive workers.

National Grandparent’s Day

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Sunday September 7th is National Grandparent’s Day. This is a wondeful idea. Grandparent’s sometimes lose out on receiving the respect and apprection they received all those years their kids were growing up. Grandparent’s are the unsug heroes. When you need a babysitter, grandma never says no. When you need a handyman around the house, grandpa wouldn’t hesitate to come over with his toolbox. Sometimes, it’s important to remember those who really mean the most.

Unique Gourmet Food Gift Baskets Solutions

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

The most popular type of gift to send is gourmet food baskets. It is considered the mainstay for all senders of gifts to friends and family. The variety and selection of food items that can be included in a food basket is great. Sweet and savory items are probably the most populous. Chocolate, coffee, tea, cookies, crackers and other types of snack items are the obvious choices. When sending a large gourmet gift, the recipient will have lots of treats to eat and probably would not finish all items for weeks and possibly months. Gourmet Food Gifts make great holiday and event gifts to send to any recipient.

Halloween Gifts - in July?

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Who plans for Halloween in July? Retailers, that’s who – especially those of us in the gift industry!(Actually large retailers such as those big box stores have already completed their planning for Halloween months ago). I’m currently reviewing last year’s gift designs and going over the numbers, looking for the strong sellers and identifying the less popular designs. Once I compare this information with our historical data over the past few years I’ll be ready to really focus and get down to business. Have a peek at some corporate halloween gift giving information.

Lazy Hazy Days of Summer…

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

Now that July is upon us, we hear the sounds of children playing in our neighbourhoods all day long rather than just in the evenings. It reminds me of my childhood and what I looked forward to all year long….the summer holidays. I was a pretty good student, and for the most part enjoyed school, however, there was nothing like having it done with for the year and to be able to do whatever we wanted during the day without worry of any unfinished homework or an impending test. This was what we thought was freedom back then, if only for two months. I was surfing the web the other day looking for material on holidays when I found this holiday page on Wikipedia. It has explanations of the word holiday and vacation, from their Etymology to their Religious meanings. The website also talks about employment issues and the types of holidays that there are. The summer holidays were my favourite as a child, but if I remember correctly, they were over before you knew it. Speaking of that, I’m sure in the next few weeks, you’ll start to see back-to-school ads in the local papers. Tell your kids to enjoy it while they can.
